The Story Behind Freedom Whiskey
Freedom Whiskey was founded by Zach, a Marine Corps Captain, whose vision extended beyond merely crafting a fine whiskey. He aspired to create opportunities for veterans, offering roles, internships, and organizing fundraising events to support various veteran charities. Despite the thriving business, Zach battled PTSD and depression, eventually passing on October 8th, 2021. In his memory, Krista Hollingsworth, Zach’s widow, has taken up the mantle of continuing his legacy. With her tenacity, she has propelled Freedom Whiskey to greater heights, raising over $64,000 for veteran charities in 2024 alone.
Krista stepped away from a decade-long career in property management to dedicate herself entirely to Freedom Whiskey. Her commitment is vivacious, demonstrated by the ongoing expansion of the brand across multiple states and the impactful Veterans Day events that continue to grow and fundraise significantly.
